Autism and digestive issues

As a kid I could, and would, eat just about anything no problem. I remember eating bad chili, I had twice as much as anyone else (a rare opportunity to get my fill) and was the only one of eight people to not get sick.

Two and a half years ago (aged 47) I found out that I was allergic to dairy products, and after quitting I suspect that some symptoms that went away had first appeared in my mid thirties.

Two and a half months ago I became bloated, I suspect it's a dietary thing but am not sure. Saw a specialist just yesterday, have already had x-rays and many tests done. Going for ultrasound on June 15.

Hi, this is an interesting topic and one that I can relate:

- I think I have some sort of bowel problem. When I travel, I get Diarrhoea constantly and have to take Imodium tablets. I also have the same issue when anxious about anything, really.
- I am deficient in B12, Iron and Folic Acid. I have to take supplements for these nutrient deficiencies.
- I am a member of my local gym. I have been weight training for a year and have made small gains and progress. I believe Aspergers is affecting my ability to develop muscle at a normal rate. (I do have some muscle).

So, yes personally, this does affect me and I believe it is due to Aspergers but I have no evidence of this.

Hello everyone, I had a question (sorry if this is the wrong section of the forums), does anyone else have common stomach issues, and are they related to autism? I have read that auties are more prone to upset tummies and other digestive problems, often due to anxieties and an over-production of stomach juices.
I have digestive issues as well. I don't believe that this is the direct result of Autism but maybe one of its comorbidities, anxiety. Anxiety is known to produce excess stomach acid.
