I had a severely infected molar removed several months ago since it could not be saved. Now the gums and the jaw underneath it are showing signs of the same infection. Wish me luck.

Hoping for a good outcome for you. Had that happen with one of my molars- mandible infection. A 3-week course of antibiotics /painkiller was the ticket.

Good luck - I hope they can treat you quickly and you heal up fast
If I knew I would end up in the ER when I left for work this morning, I would have brought my Nintendo Switch with me.
I wish that all-ages hospitals were like childrens hospitals and had things like video games and books for everyone

Get well soon!

Also - if they give you a course of antibiotics, make sure you finish them even if you feel better. Otherwise, you could end up with an even worse infection.

I was just discharged with a large supply of antibiotics. They also told me to see my dentist ASAP. I am seeing my dentist in two hours from now because she had an opening then.

The dentist just told me I had to see one of their bone specialists ASAP, and he’s not in today. I was hoping to get this resolved today.

The weather has been so summery this week
that I want to think October first is a very long
time from now, but it's "only" two weeks. 😐

You have antibiotics.
I hope that begins to quell the pain I imagine you're feeling.

How many day's worth of medicine do you have? @Metalhead

If pain is a problem, ask a pharmacist about combining/alternating ibuprofen and acetaminophen. If you combine those properly, they usually are more effective than narcotics for dental pain.
