Are you a worrywart?

I've been known to worry too much about things I can't do a thing about.

I worry about:

1) Past embarrassments I should've gotten over by now
2) The consequences of not following instructions or proper procedure
3) The consequences of something wrong I did that day
4) Past situations in which something bad could've happened to me

I've been occasionally able to talk myself out of it. If I'm worrying in bed, prayer helps.

I don't worry too much about the past. I tend to worry more about the future and how some things might affect me. In a sense I know a few things that affect me I can't change either. It's stuff along the lines of benefits, insurance and life in general. To some extent there's a bit of control there though and those aspects don't really bother me... it's the ones that are realistic and create a tough situation that I worry over too much.

Sometimes it just feels as if you're on death row or something along those lines. While perhaps "death row" is slightly dramaticized, to me sometimes things just feel like "I'll just have to wait and see how it all pans out". Having the ability to at some cases look between the lines and see what issues it will bring just adds to it. Sometimes I wish I was just a cynic who is proven wrong a bit more, yet in the past most issues and worries I had were legitimate worries. That does mess a bit with your outlook I guess. Worrying isn't always a bad thing, but the moment it goes from worrying to "a realistic view towards the future" it pretty much colors any worries you have in general.

I do that too, it often keeps me awake at night, and sometimes I'll be worrying about things that happened over 10 years ago.

I think about stuff a lot & mull things over in my mind from a variety of angles, but I never worry. I am not really emotionally functional enough to sustain worrying.
