I love most fruits!Like most other fruits better.
I like bananas and oranges, wife buys apples for her self only eat occasionally, I guess apples are too common.
Don't worry some body beat you to it their both fruit, maybe this helps.I'm trying to work in a joke about "apples to oranges" here but failing.![]()
When I lived in Upstate New York, I picked Northern Spies off the tree. They were superb. The next day I found them less interesting. Some sort of ester had left the apples. There are a lot of good heirloom apples in my area. My favorite are Northern Spies. For a tasty, modern, variety, SweeTango is unparalleled. That apple has changed how pickers are compensated. Its tender skin and woody stem is too delicate to be twisted off the tree. Pickers need to cut each apple off to avoid stem punctures and they are paid by the hour rather than by weight.
Added: With a great variety of apples here in N. Michigan there are some outfits making nice hard ciders. A favorite of mine is Smackintosh, by Tandem Ciders. A dry cider with lots of flavor.
Extra protein!!Nothing worse then biting into an apple with a worm in it than noticing the apple has half a worm in it,
