Anybody else here remember Dance Dance Revolution?

I still have a foam PS2 mat in excellent condition, so I still play it once in a while to this very day.

It is a great cardio workout on the higher difficulties.

Who else here enjoyed playing this at the arcades back in the day? It is a shame this game fell out of popularity like it did, it still is tons of fun.

Playing a few rounds of it just now helped to lift me out of a low grade depression for the time being. Just getting my blood pumping and my endorphins up without the use of drugs or alcohol was a great idea.

I remember when Bryan Cranston did this. In leather pants. :)
Sure, Breaking Bad was good but nowhere near as good as this.

I play a lot when I can, I've gotten pretty good at it. I got burned out a couple months ago because you can lose your stamina really quickly when you stop, so I felt pressured to always be playing. I haven't had time with school, and since I graduate and get a job at the end of 2024, and probably move into an apartment, I probably won't have time for a while. But hopefully then I can come back to it fresh without the stress.

You say remember like it's something from the past but I can assure you that at my local arcade, they remain among the more popular games.

I don't think I ever actually played, but I remember how popular it was. It was fun to see kids playing on the boardwalks in New Jersey.

I played it in 2003. Someone I was dating introduced me to it at the arcade (gone now), and it super fun! I downloaded plans to build my own wood/acrylic backlit pad, and had a very old keyboard that I had mapped out the matrix connectors to tap into for the buttons. But then life changed directions.

I still see DDR or similar variations of it at Round 1 and other such fancier arcade type places.
I love it even though I'm not good at it besides basic level.
I sometimes get concerned I'm going to be all smelly after the game and then have no good place to go elsewhere without being stinky to others around me.

Maybe there are still some near me because I live near a big city as it sounds like it's faded out for many of you.

Some bigger anime conventions will sometimes have DDR machines- so may want to consider attending anime conventions.
