Would "cahoot" be a good nickname for an owl domestic to Canada?

Wouldn't it be clearer if they gesticulated madly while uttering their repetitive "who" questions?
 
Could it just be that owls suffer hereditary deafness and struggle with sign language because they lack fingers?
