An awful commute from work, and a little surprise...

The Friday commute, and the weekend is here!

A nasty commute (one or two bad drivers, and a small traffic jam), but as I approached home along a quiet street I spotted a neat Japanese JDM truck, just had to stop, it was parked rather nicely under some building lights, and I took a couple cell phone photos...

This is a street I often drive on coming home, and this is the first time I've seen that truck... For those who care - because I do - it's a Toyota HiAce, ca. 1985/95, and I just love the look of it!

In the late 80s and early 90s, I'd see them used as work/transport trucks in the high desert.

Flatbed Duallys were definitely the apex of Anza-Borrego Chic, but those Japanese trucks were pretty neat too. I never saw one take on a rutted washed out road though.

I've rarely seen a truck like this before...
