    The weather here would probably cause some members of this forum to walk around outside in shorts and t-shirt. 3-4 inches of snow in this area causes absolute chaos. I have no idea how some would cope if we got a couple of feet of snow. I'd like to experience something like that one day.

    Our typical yearly snowfall is about 12 feet.
    Never more than about 3 ft. on the ground at any one time.
    It compacts and/or melts.
    A foot is a common depth.

    We haven't had a foot of snow here since the 1980s. It's trying a bit harder out there but still not much 'sticking'.

    Hour clearing scrap from the back garage. 5 wheelbarrows gone and barely a dent made. Probably a couple of tons to go at least.

    Scrap metal. Dad hoarded odd bits of steel and now that his health isn't good he has agreed to dispose of all of it. We have dozens of electric motors, electrical cable and yet more metal to get rid of! I'm keeping that aluminium and brass/bronze though, I can use that!

    Two days spent organising one of my collections. So far fourteen boxes organised. Now I have to condense five boxes into four because I don't have space for five.

    They are getting rare. Many cars were a common sight once but now are on the endangered list. One example is the original UK Ford Sierra. There is only one base model known to survive. Salted roads are a killer for cars.

    You have to clean the undercarriage monthly in states that use a lot of salt.

    We're keeping it off the roads while they are salted. The new one isn't best suited to short journeys (doesn't get up to temperature) which didn't bother the old one. Such is progress.

    Dentist was fun. Needed a filling and I hate needles. The only time it hurt was when he sprayed cold air on the tooth.

    Your wisdom teeth actually erupted/came through the gum and show, as teeth?

    Mine were not ever going to emerge. They were stuck under other teeth.
    So I had all four out, one day.

    Mine were causing problems and damaged one of my molars so they had to be extracted. My lower jaw has never quite recovered. I had to have a tooth filled, my first ever. It came out during COVID and I couldn't get a dentist so I filled it myself lol!

    @tree , on my upper jaw they formed and came through but their opposite numbers in my lower jaw did not form. @MildredHubble , ouch!

    Borrowed a log splitter. This is a fun thing on some of the really dried out logs! Made short work of the five lumps brought down so that's us sorted for a day or two.

    Electric. It took me a couple of go's to learn what the limits were. If it's dry tomorrow I'll crack on with the remaining logs. I have no idea if there's going to be another cold snap so best to be prepared.

    This year we have a new wood splitter.
    Splits wood in two.
    Also has an attachment so the wood can be split into four sections.
