    Hi...

Welcome, Dinotector! I like your name and avatar! I understand why you feel you'd like an official diagnosis. For a variety of reasons, getting diagnosed (in my late thirties) brought me some measure of peace with myself. Best of luck!

    Just learned I'm an Aspie...

Hey, I don't know how it is where you live, but in the United States some of the pharmaceutical companies have special programs to help those who can't afford their meds. But you have to contact them and apply.

    Obsessive Compulsive Disorder?

When I was diagnosed with Aspergers, she said I also had OCD. But the med I take for depression helps a great deal with my OCD symptoms.

When did you stop believing in Santa?

My parents made a big deal about Santa, and even did things like having us put out carrots for the reindeer (and then putting them back in the package while we were asleep) and putting out cookies for Santa (and of course then eating them themselves). I totally believed, no doubts whatsoever...

How Do You Explain To Others What Aspergers Is?

I have a son with autism, and rather than try to explain aspergers, I have had better luck explaining that sometimes family members also have "autistic-like traits". Something I found interesting and somewhat amusing -- my son and I were waiting for a meeting in a building in which a variety...

    The Stigma of Self-Diagnosis

I am officially diagnosed, but I never shared that fact with my mother because I am fairly certain she would have regarded it as simply that I was trying to get attention.
