    I’m currently waiting for assessment, I’ll be waiting for about a year apparently. Even though i don’t have my formal diagnosis, doors have opened just realising i may be on the spectrum!

    The first thing the doctor said to me after i requested an assessment was that it didn’t open quite as many doors as you’d think.. I’m glad it’s been confirmed for you :) I hope you can find the help you’re wanting at this moment.

    Exactly, lol. Mental health isn’t much better, had to wait 8 months just to get an initial assessment, then 6 months until i was top of the list!

    I couldn’t find anything specifically in my area, but i saw a quote of £200 to £1000! I guess as soon as i saw those numbers my brain said “nope nope, nhs here we come (In 3 months to a yearo_O)”

    I haven’t read through all replies but I think I’ve definitely taught myself in a way, every conversation i listen to feels like I can learn from it. I analyse peoples body language and everything they say so i can try to break down in my head what’s going on and i can get really really focused...

    That’s unfortunately what the doctor’s told me, COVID slowing everything down to an almost stop :/ Couldn’t believe how much a private assessment was so i have to wait for the good ol’ NHS :p Why anyone would pay for a guaranteed diagnosis is a mystery to me :S

    Just put into words what I’ve felt my whole life. How do you talk to people if the only thing you want to talk about they have no interest in..? But I agree with what others have said and there’s so many communities for the things you love!! Especially within big cities
