My life is difficult right now, but I find joy in the spirit of the Holidays. Traditions are really important to me. They are sort of a "jump start" to fill life with so much holiness, love, kindness and togetherness that the rest of the year rides on that bliss. I'm very much looking forward to the Feast of Stephen. It's privately a special day.
Please continue to pray for my brother. His wound looks worse and worse. Necrotizing. Can see muscle and bone and things. Please pray for him. Needs amputation.

We had a fire a couple days ago in my building. Car fire the basement. No hot baths for days, for you see, the hero of the day smashed a bunch of ceiling pipes, including the hot water main, in order to control the spread of the flames. I was trapped upstairs for over an hour. My caregiver was also a hero, she refused to leave my side, as there were eight flights of stairs and I couldn't get down that many.
My wheelchair has been broken for about three months now. I've been mostly homebound, becoming very acclimated to online shopping. I was in a grocery store today, and disliked it highly. Homeless galore! Was so happy to get out of there. I like the old tymey feel of getting groceries delivered. And it's fun to tip the driver.
>> There's this older guy and his wife and I think older sister or something. Seems nice enough so I ask if he can spare a few bucks for a bagel or something, down on my luck etc. Originally shakes his head no and says "You're on your own, bud." I kid you not five seconds later when they leave he comes right back and gives me $7, and even apologized to me!
Aight get this. Stuck downtown at home right now because it's gotten below 30 Fahrenheit out here, and we decided to go stay at the warming shelter (there's a baptist church here right after the Cotton Exchange, every year they open for a week to a few days or so). This afternoon, went and sat on a bench where some commonly-seen spirits (yes, my hometown is haunted... fun fact: one of them likes music.) hang out >>
Got myself a survival kit from Walmart. And it would be day 4 or so of following my stepdad's "soldier life" teachings. To be brutally honest, considering my usual opinions here on my status wall, actually doing what he has been going over with me is not only causing EVERYTHING I should have been learning and picking up on this whole time to stick like glue, I've actually been enjoying it!
Discovering that skin which no longer fits well is even more irritating than clothing that doesn't fit well because you can't simply change it for something different. Frig.
So, owls and crows have a sort of rivalry going on (Perhaps they're more like humans than we thought).

I think I gotta step away from here for awhile. Spending too much time checking and clicking, and that is NOT helping me break bad habits. I'm getting better, much better, at resisting the urge to scroll (Youtube) and stupid things like that, but it's not enough yet. Gotta push harder. Have a good holiday, everyone!
It's Saturday morning. Furnace not working again. Just had a guy out yesterday to fix it. I imagine now I'll have to pay emergency rates for repair.
