The Internet broke down last week. Thereafter, I decided to read over 15 books on economics and society. After reading them, I just realized I hadn't achieved comparative advantage in what I am doing. I have to quit all the groups I dislike. Unlike the very supportive and open-minded AC, where we work in a team to maintain order and sense throughout the forum, I ought to let you guys know about it - I think my local support group is nothing but a personal political machine, at least, for now.
The situation in Singapore is really, we ought to work for a broad-based society where we don't just cry foul for not doing badly as special needs individuals, we actually do work together under the auspices of the 'parent-centric' parent support groups, and try to follow them as much as possible. The group refused to commit to what we see in the government, hence, I refuse to commit to my support group's activities, because we just think different, for now.
I realise I give up too many stuff if I continue to do a lot of stuff in that support group, whereas in other groups (most notably AC), I'll have much more fun and joy sharing with you guys here.
So what I did was, I quit my post from my local autism/special needs support group by a Facebook message to my 'superior', and wished them luck. Not that they are bad, but our experiences are so different, and I respect that.
As I still identify and feel strongly with AC, I'll continue to come here. Here, I can continue to post positive news on Autism
