have always been confused by this belief.It's my understanding that he was in fact autistic, yes. But people with autism are rarely violent (and actually, only a very small percentage of people with mental illnesses/conditions are violent). So obviously Fox was just doing its usual fearmongering.
violence is quite a big issue for ASD,especialy classic autism,its labeled under challenging behavior and in those of us with severe or profound levels of CB we often end up under a pile of police officers or sectioned in intelectual disability hospitals and on lots of medications as a result,have known hundreds of autistics over the years from being special college educated & living with them and not one of them didnt have violent severe or profound challenging behavior.
however....homicidal violence is different,which is what adam lanza had,this is the violence that has no connection whatsoever with pure autism/ autism without severe mental illness.
