Why So Many Ads???

Gah! Way too many ads! It makes reading the site difficult and annoying. I try to read a thread, and I get a Burger King ad on top, then another one interrupting every two posts, not to mention the ones at the side and bottom. And the ads load at different times, so my "place" in the page keeps shifting around. Very distracting! Especially for someone who likes a clutter-free, distraction-free, noise-free environment, this is not good.

It also isn't clear until you come into threads like this that you can pay for "VIP" membership, which removes the ads. That's good, but the option shouldn't be hard to discover. Put a button up front with "Ad Free" or something.

I am not bitching so much as letting you know you're probably losing a lot of potential members because they find the site too annoying and distracting to read, and they leave before discovering that they can pay to remove ads. The info is buried in a subforum.

I have an ad-blocker, but for some reason it doesn't work on this site. :/

Which adblocker are you using? They arent all created equal.

I use uBlock Origin myself (and then also SponsorBlock to get rid of the other type of ad on Youtube).

I havent seen an internet ad in who even knows how long on my PC here.

I use the very creatively titled "AdBlock." It works fine on the other sites I visit. This is the first site where it has failed.

It's like the ads are so numerous and powerful, they overrun the gates or something, lol.

Ad's go away once you pay nominal fee for site. Suspect this site is associated with linkedin.nominal fee discourages fruits and nuts. Seems to work.

I made the small, reasonable donation and the ads went away. Recommend this.

Gotcha. I was just saying that it'd be better if the site admin had a button or notice up front, rather than requiring people to search subforums etc. for the answer to why there are so many ads and how to eliminate them. It is potentially turning people away who are averse to visual clutter but don't have the patience to search the site for answers.

Not a big deal, just a suggestion.

I guess somebody did their home work, new NT would not pursue further, however the targeted ND like myself, who like puzzles would figure it out. The target of this site is the high functioning Aspies. We are self identifying ourselves.

It used to, but it may have changed.
Do you mean this?

and Bob's yer uncle ever since.

LOL...love that saying. First heard it from Aussie Nick on YouTube's "Gearseekers".

Reminded me of some of our sayings, such as "Everything's Jake". Same meaning...but Bob sounds better...lol. Though admittedly if I use it locally no one will know what I mean. ;)

I was in Cuba went to bread station to get a bun lady standing there with bottle keep asking me Ron. Wondered why she kept repeating my name.
