Merriam-Webster definition of agnostic:
1
: a person who holds the view that any ultimate reality (such as God) is unknown and probably
unknowable
broadly
: one who is not committed to believing in either the existence or the
nonexistence of God or a god.
Not committed to believing the existence or nonexistence of a god would describe my view.
I don't hold to the belief that one certain book or religion explains a God. They are written by man. Just as the historical/ancient concepts that are depicted in drawings, statues or stories are manmade creations.
Mankind has always created their own ideas of such because we have always wondered how things came to be. As stated before, it has been needed by most for a feeling of comfort from something larger than self- and/or moral or political control of the peoples.
This is my belief. There are many others. To each his own as long as it is not doing harm to others in the name of said belief. Unfortunately, that has happened through history.
With more scientific proof, which is always growing and changing, everything seems to be connected with consciousness, just at different existing levels of energy. What our physical bodies can see, touch and feel, and that which we cannot.
If I were to call something God, it would just be all that is. Not an omnipotent being. But then again, I don't know what a perfect, omnipotent being would create.
Something would had to have created that perfect being first.
