Why do I always end up killing threads?

Come on you guys. This thread was murdered a long time ago. Whose séance brought it back? lol

The original premise of this particular thread was not a game.
The idea was to explore the perception that posting in a thread
somehow leads to loss of interest by other people in the topic.

It is a misconception often held by newer members.
They either are expressing their feelings of over exposure
(*I've said too much and driven everybody away*), or
lack of patience (*why isn't anybody interested in what I say/it's
been x minutes/x hours/x days and nobody's replied
*).

Projecting that one is a "Thread Killer" typically is not
accurate. Anxiety regarding the ability to carry on a dialog
may be the basis of the idea.
