What was the last thing you cooked?

Lentil burgers, lentils were from Trader Joe's. In the mail today was a 2lbs of black lentils and you wash and sort them, drop into boiling water and simmer 15-20 minutes. l was thinking of mixing with a soy product, and adding flavor and using for tacos or in a wrap.

Spiced pears from our Kieffer pear tree which I canned with the hot water method. I flavored them with a vanilla bean, a star anise, and some white peppercorns in each jar. They'll be so good by Thanksgiving and Christmas time. I like to eat a half a pear with some cottage cheese or cut them up and add them to a green salad.

A comforting bedtime pot of buckwheat porridge with butter and milk.

And I pressure canned 8 pints of beans.

Chainsaw burgers...!

Today's breakfast: Jalapeno poppers (stuffed peppers) made with homegrown jalapenos, stuffed with cheddar cheese and cilantro, and wrapped in smoked lean bacon, baked on a rack at 300 degrees F for 90 minutes so the peppers get soft, the cheese melts without draining out of the peppers and the bacon gets crisp.

I had so much cleaning, that l went to Taco Bell. But l made popcorn. I think l need to visit the poppers at @Mary Terry 's hhouse. Wait, l need to make that! But there is no vegan bacon. I had chicken there, l feel guilty, l have been on a vegetarian menu, except for fish.

Three burritos- flour tortillas, refried black beans, 'mexican mix' cheese, cooked ground sausage, LaVictoria enchilada sauce (I like this brand as it is thicker, and doesn't use tomatoes). I'm not sure if this counts as cooking, as it is all prepackaged ingredients.
