What was the last movie you watched?

Toughest horror movie of the year....hands down...

Bring Her Back

I can't stop thinking about how hard this one hit.

"Jurassic Park: Rebirth" (2025) -Peacock

Wow...what a surprise. Lots of fun...especially seeing such high-quality special effect continue to evolve over the last 32 years of this franchise.

Sure, a few of the classic cliches from the past, but I enjoyed it nevertheless.

Spinal Tap II. Not nearly as brutal of a satire as the first film was, but still pretty fun to watch.

In short time between each other, I watched two similar movies Jojo Rabbit and The Zone of Interest. Similar in meaning that both are very creepy way of indirectly describing horrors of Nazi-time. Indirectly meaning that both could be seen as lighthearted movies if you don't know what really happened (or, in case of Jojo Rabbit, all of those absurd gags were not too absurd to be reality).

I tried to watch the 2025 Superman - I made it all of about 20 minutes. Had to turn it off. Apparently written for children. Not my thing.
Yeah... While it was nice that it wasn't done with that overly serious way like most previous DC-movies, James Gunn decided to go to the other far-end and make some slapstick comedy-like instead. Not exactly an improvement...

Faeries - A 1999 Animated film I first saw on Boxing Day when I was a child.

The plot involves two children - George and Nellie - been sent to Fairyoak Farm in the countryside while their home is been renovated - meeting with Brigid, one of the farmhands, and later with Broom; the farm's resident Hobgoblin who helps keep it tidy.
However, while exploring the nearby woods, George accidentally steps into a fairy ring and is transported into Fairyland, where he is forbidden from leaving after eating some of their food despite Nellie's attempts to stop him. Thankfully, their ruler - Prince Albrecht - offers the chance for George to be freed if he and Nellie complete three tasks for him. This not only results in the children trying to bring Brigid into Fairyland, due to Albrecht having fallen in love with her, but also helping to combat the schemes of Albrecht's evil brother (referred to only as "The Shapeshifter").

All in all, it's not a film that has aged well - and not just because of the VHS recording's quality, but also with the animation. It's a shame because the film does have some good voice actors, including Dougray Scott as Prince Albrecht, Kate Winslet as Brigid, Tony Robinson as Broom (my favourite character in the film) and Jeremy Irons as Albrecht's Brother/The Shapeshifter.
Still, there is a charm to it and younger viewers might get something out of it:

This morning. Sunday, December 7th. A movie I see every year at this time.

"Tora! Tora! Tora!" (1970)

The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. My mother's first high school boyfriend was killed that day on the USS Arizona. He was only 19 years old. RIP.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps - Best Fantastic Four movie so far, average Marvel-movie, good superhero movie over all. Didn't change my mind about me waiting the superhero-genre to diminish and give some room for something new...

Monty Python and holy Grail.
Silliest movie ever made. Very funny.

I agree but of their movies i still prefer the meaning of life it mades me laugh every time

I prefer The Life of Brian. Mostly because it had a solid story line in addition of funny sketches.

I never figured Life of Brian out. But the stoning scene was good and he didn't like being called hook nose, kike, etc.

"Zeppelin" (1971) -DVD

I've watched this one a few times over the years.

An amusing, but implausible fictional account of a British double-agent during WW1 defecting to Germany. In a ridiculous mission to use a dirigible in a heist involving the most cherished historical archives of Britain, held under military guard in Scotland.

"Avatar: The Way Of Water" (2022) Hulu

Loved it, but then I figure if you enjoyed the first one, the second one will follow accordingly. One worth watching just to note the "cutting edge" of special effects.
