It does sound very pleasant to an ear. Reminded me about the Hurdy Gurdy instrument, which can create such a different range of sounds, and it looks like some magical artifact!I've been watching "The Chosen" series and they used a sound throughout the score from an Indian instrument called a "Tanpura". I love listening to it. It sounds so ethereal and mysterious. I think the composers used it to represent God's presence in the series.
