What is Chemistry?

There is a social concept that's been bugging me for years. I can't for the life of me tell whether two people, or two characters, or two actors, have "chemistry" or not. Others can, apparently, since they say things like, "Bella and Edward have no chemistry" or "they still have more chemistry than Romeo and Juliet, though".

From what I understand it has to do with connection. Can people really see that? In everyone, or just in fictional characters from knowing more about them? Is it all intuitive (a word that still sounds like "guesswork" to me), or is it something you can analyse?

Chemistry to me is two people communicating on the same level - making a lot of eye contact, smiling, laughing, touching each other a lot, enjoying each others company -- another word for a strong attraction (maybe that's why it's called chemistry because of atoms forming bonds.) :)

As Grumpy Cat says :)

This is one area where I am not deplete on lol for I am known to know who is going to marry and soon, their marriage is announced :p
