"What do you do for a living?"

I'm old enough that I can simply say I'm retired. End of probing questions! Besides, I live in a rural area where people rarely ask that question.

I am an accountant and artist. January to April, I'm filing tax returns. April to December, I'm drawing portraits. Well, not so much in the summer. Minimal bookkeeping and drawing to be done. I'm trying to find something to fill the void since all the highschoolers are working the only jobs I'd have any chance of getting hired at.

I've done the same thing all of my life to make a living. I really like what I do, so I guess I've never worked a day in my life.

right but you still never explain what you do?
I am a field service tech. I work on electric vehicles(mostly fork lifts), batteries and battery chargers. Almost all of my work is done at the customers site, thus the "field service".

I work in the loan industry for real estate. I'm self-employed and act as a consultant. Basically, I write reports for banks and loan companies regarding real estate investments.

I'll try to work as a flight attendant in emirates, norwegian, vueling... That'd provide the money I need, a change on my lifestyle and a chance to expand my horizons.

i do survies over the phone, it's boring, and i take two buses, an hour and a half one way. but the supervisors are real nice, and the work is easy.
