What console should I buy?

I wanna start playing Famicom and NES games (mostly the former because the Family Computer is superior) and I own some Famicom carts and a AV to HDMI adapter and my local gamestore that specializes in old games has a giant NES collection. I have 3 choices and will list the pros and cons of each. I need you guys to help me guide my decision.

The Nintendo Entertainment System

Pros:

  • Detachable controllers
  • Can play NES games natively (obviously)
Cons:
  • Need to buy Disk System separately after also buying an Famicom adapter.

Sharp Twin Famicom

Pros:

  • Can play both Famicom and disc system games without need to buy a disc system separately for the latter.
Cons:

  • Hardwired controllers

RetroUSB AVS

Pros:

  • Can play both NES and Famicom games natively and has an expansion port for Disk System.
Cons:

  • Need to buy a disk system seperately.
  • Comes with no controllers whatsoever, the one listed on their official site costs like 60$

I don't want it because it's an emulator. I want legit hardware.

Unfortunately, unless you have an original NES unit and a CRT monitor. Delays are just gonna be a pert of the retro gaming experience. About 2 years ago, I played Super Mario Bros on RetroPi for the first time in over 30 years and I definitely notice the delay. But after playing it for a while. I got used to it and it was never a problem anymore. Believe me, you will get used to the delay, it not the end of the world. BTW: using a real original NES on an LCD screen will cause a delay.

So I guess I'll get a RetroUSB AVS then. It's essentially a modern NES made for LCD's that uses no emulation.

It's better to just use an emulator with an Xbox gamepad or something nowadays if you want to play retro games. It's completely free (besides the controller), and much easier than buying an entire system.

Plus emulators get updates, as well.

Nah I wanna play with the actual cartridges I have.

I have both the NES classic and the SNES classic. The only reason I keep them is because of Legend of Zelda, Original Final Fantasy 1, Earthbound, and Link to the Past. Otherwise I'd have sold them at Half Price Books.

I remember when they first came out Nintendo only sent out tiny amounts to each store, and scalpers were waiting outside in the cold at 4am to buy the lot. I remember seeing them trying to scalp them at comic con for $200. I despise scalpers and I'm delighted that most were stuck with them. They aren't even worth the $60 they originally paid.

Ok so I ordered an RetroUSB AVS. I feel so damn impatient lol.

I really shouldn't have ordered on a saturday.
