Webcam recommendations for computers?

I want to start doing reaction content and let’s plays on my YouTube channel, but I need a webcam if I want to do facecam for these videos. My mom said to do research on webcams but idk much about them. What webcams would u reccomend?
 
Hopefully something that defaults to a resolution of 1080p and no lower, as well as provide 30 frames per second (fps).

I saw some webcams on Amazon for under $20. Should I avoid those? I also saw some AI powered ones too. I also saw ones in the 50$+ range too.
 
It kind of depends on how good of quality you need. With decent lighting I can just use OBS and any old phone hooked up to Droidcam OBS for a pretty clear picture, but if you're going for something crisp and more cinematic you can really break the bank to get exactly what you're after. Editing is a must most of the time, but even that can't fix a distinct lack of clarity and it's sometimes better just to play off of it if you can't get a better-quality video.

Some reaction videos can do pretty well with a lo-fi aesthetic, food for thought. Sometimes it makes things even funnier and charming if it looks like less thought went into it. "Totally spontaneous" -- just don't let them know editing takes hours, or else it'll break the illusion ;)

I've been streaming for years like this, although I don't really have too much of a use when it comes to camming unless I'm doing some kind of hardware showcasing, otherwise I'd have a pretty good stockpile of examples to show my results, etc. I'm looking to get into more hands-on and reaction-oriented if the medium calls for it myself, but my old faithful OnePlus is on standby. Still looks pretty good after all these years.

Wyze cams also release firmware to let you run them as webcams, so if you've got one of those lying around you can flash it and repurpose it for $0.
