Ways Humans Can Help Other Animals

So, I went to toss some dryer lint into the large trash can, but the liner was all the way at the bottom and lying on top of the liner, sleeping, was a possum. I was afraid he couldn't get out and was dead, but he woke up when I jiggled the can.

So I took him outside and tipped the can over so it was lying on its side figuring he would leave when I backed off.

So a couple hours later I go to bring the trash can back in and he is still in there curled up in the bin liner, looking very comfortable. So now I am thinking he was not trapped, but just found a comfy place to spend the day.

So, presumably he will go out tonight after dark and I can get my trash can back.
