Walking and other physical activity.

I wear a Fitbit and when I'm at work I contribute to my 10k steps each day by walking around the office atrium at ten minutes to each hour. In this respect it helps that I don't drive to work; it's quite striking how much fewer steps I take if someone gives me a lift.

I've looked into joining a gym as a way of fitting in weight-bearing exercise. Although there are discounts available via my trade union (PCS) and the Civil Service Sports Club they don't cover any gyms where I live, only near my office.
