false. although i do feel healthier when i avoid gluten, i am not allergic to the gluten itself. i think it's more that i'm sensitive to dietary fiber which makes my tummy hurt. i've actually used washed wheat gluten to make delicious fake chicken when i was vegetarian, called seitan.
