The weather blues... Early snowfall and a car show

The last weekend of September coming up in southern Alberta... The last big classic car event of the year, one that usually gets well over 1,000 classic cars into a small town, all in one day...

But... Always a but... Snowfall is predicted from Friday to Monday... I did say snow, and it is the last weekend of September... :(

On their website, the car club swears the show will happen on Sunday despite the weather... I'm just really down about all of this, I have relied so much on this car show to nicely capstone the end of car show season... I've gone to every show since 2005, seen the growth, it's a fun day even with the large crowds... And then this year comes around...

If they do hold the show still, might make for some interesting photography, but overall it's a big disappointment for me, and I somehow don't think there is a rain date (err... snow date) for a car show this late in the year

I think my problem, I have strong routines, even around events I've gone to yearly for many years, almost wouldn't dare to miss one... I also have very strong anticipation of things I love, and this car show is one of them... Plus it's my last chance to see classic cars until springtime... I believe some of all of this is related to Asperger's, based on stuff I've read, and I do know this isn't life and death, but in some ways it feels like that to me in a certain way...

We’ve been having some nice sunny late summer days, but this week that has come to an end. Hailstorms and stormy weather are predicted for the coming weekend and I am not looking forward to it. I am just now coming out of a depression and I really hope I won’t be catapulted back in by bad weather.

Sherlock, it is normal to be disappointed by some kind of upset interfering in a special event like this. It hasn't been cancelled, so you should still look forward to it. I found that I can pump up my happiness or contentment if I have an event scheduled for the future. There is something about the anticipation that gives me a boost. If you get snow, that might add an interesting dimension to your photographs. Have fun with it.

You wouldn't be canadian if you didn't complain about the weather. Probably why we don't have all that much crime. Were too busy fighting with our number one enemy, the climate.

A timely post. Today here is most likely to be the last warm day this year. Tomorrow the day's high temperature will drop some 30 degrees. There may even be snow in some places at higher altitudes. Rain definitely coming.

I'm expecting to go to bed with it still warm indoors, while waking up around 4am with it rather cold. Ugh.

It's just the timing that's all, snow in September isn't unusual here in Alberta, just why did the "big day" happen smack dab in the middle of the last car show of the year... I can deal with winter and winter weather in general, until it messes up with things I care about... Or maybe I'm being too selfish

Snow or not, if they are still having the show on Sunday, I'm going! Even if there aren't even close to 1000 cars there :p

I'd welcome the cold and snow - seriously. I love fall and winter. Yes, winter. I loved the winters in Ohio, in Wyoming, in Montana. I'm ready for it. It's upper 80's and 90's here still and with the humidity, it always feels hotter. I hate it.
I'm glad you're still planning to go to the car show.

From the automotive swap meet today, bad signs for tomorrow? Possibly expecting 10 to 20 cm of snow by tomorrow...

I officially pulled the plug... They are expecting way too much snow, highways will likely be dangerous for driving... Biggest issue is the amount of snow expected, falling on trees with leaves on them still... Even if I had a 4x4 I still wouldn't go...

Why do I feel so crappy about all of this, only because I've been so loyal to this show over many years, but it's not worth risking life and limb for a car show either, there's always next year! :(

The proof? Take a look...
