The last thing you bought?

I recently bought two things:
1: a new drill diver. My old one is a 25 year old Dewalt - still works but the batteries are failing and replacements are not available.

2: a new HVAC heat pump for my design lab / personal space:

I just love the new HVAC. It was completely DIY (do it yourself) I installed it with no help and no problems. It came pre-charged so didn't have to deal with any refrigerant other than running the lines.
I am so happy with it because it uses very little energy, about the same as a refrigerator and best of all, it is SILENT, both the inside and outside units. Both at max cool or heat is not even a whisper.

One of my greatest purchases!

Well it turns out that the motorized Lego Lighthouse I was buying off of Facebook Market was really a fake but I still got it because it was a lot cheaper than the real thing and it also is a near perfect replica of the model. And I think some of the decorative pieces are even nicer in the fake kit as the fire axe is actually painted red on the back half of the blade and there’s this gold circle that truly looks metallic and it even has a nice shine to it as it reflects a tiny bit of light. The only downside is the base plate is really flimsy feeling but it still does the job well and it at least can handle the stress of removing pieces from it if you make a mistake. So far I have gotten most of the base built. I normally stay away from counterfeit stuff but this Lighthouse is $300 on the official Lego store site and sells for even more on eBay NIB. I’ve really wanted this model since it was revealed and for $75, I’d say I got more than what I paid for. Everything is pretty much the same and I just wanted to have a cool display piece in my living room other than the Lego Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle sets that I have.

I’ve got HVAC splits. They are not silent though.

$140 in BigW. For US readers that's about $85. Can't go wrong. It's already paid for itself in me not getting KFC twice a week. :)
Excellent. Thats about the same as what I paid at Aldi. Big enough for a medium size pizza and some basic baking. I don’t use the kitchen oven now at all. It’s at least three times the volume. Maybe it uses three times the power?

Starlink Mini. I'm depressed about having to make this purchase. I cannot abide Elon Musk, but the bugger has a way of controlling essential infrastructure.

I get it. I don’t want to support Musk in any way either. Look after yourself first always. He is likely not to be the ceo / owner of starlink in the medium term anyway. His financial situation for him is like playing benga badly.

Is that a rotisserie meat attachment? Our air fryer has one but I've used it only to cook a Cornish game hen because it's too small for a standard 3-4 pound chicken.
Yep. I can't imagine getting much use out of the rotisserie attachment but you never know. I could see myself doing something like a small rolled roast, lamb or beef, it's not big enough for much else. I'm hoping it will get me more enthusiastic about cooking again. I used to love making my own pastry.

I used to have a small gas oven, supposedly a camping device but I had it in the kitchen. Because it was small it was incredibly economical and it didn't take long to get up to temperature, plus there were two gas burners on top. I loved that little oven and used it all the time, then I was made to get rid of it, we're not allowed to have gas cylinders in social housing because of the fire hazard. (because there's too many dickheads in the world)

That was a couple of years ago and I just couldn't make myself happy trying to use an electric stove, it took so long to heat up and to cool down that it wasn't very practical to cook with and it's incredibly expensive to use. On the couple of occasions I did use the oven I also hated having to get down on my hands and knees to clean it. A small oven at bench height is a lot easier.
