The last thing that made you laugh

I'm actually unsure whether it's funny or not, because it's almost true.

The mushroom jar. We recently bought a jar of marinated mushrooms out of curiosity for my husband to munch on. (He likes mushrooms, I have a very strained relationship with them.) He walked into my room some time later and said "It must not be meant for me to eat those mushrooms." I go in there and after a few minutes I present the mushrooms to him. "It may take a man to open a pickle jar, but it takes a woman to open a mushroom jar!" And then I showed him the piece of that bubbly gripper stuff I have that you put down in drawers and on shelves to keep things from sliding around. They make great jar openers too! I keep a piece in the gadget drawer just for such an occasion.

It takes a man to know the value of good machinery to do the same job :p

I paid $1 for this lil gadget at a yardsale this summer...it takes a jar lid off with one finger :D

She always says weird, morbid stuff like that. . . . You can't help but wonder what goes on in her head. :lol:

my cat brought home a hairnet. also she stands on two and hugs my leg.

I have read material I will be quoting for years, starting with "Lookit this here weed, it's so purty and green -- I bet it'd eat real good. All I have to do is cook it to pieces and smother it with lard." Ah, word of wisdom that brought me to that site in the first place, if you ever decide to make poke salad, boil the leaves twice in a fresh batch of water each time. Rumor has it pokeweed is poisonous, and I don't want to test the theory by some AC member mysteriously disappearing.

The last thing that made me laugh was yesterday when my mum went out to get chinese food and the guy across the road quickly moved his van out of his driveway and into the space she left. I got annoyed so I stuck a post it note on the side of the van that said "DEMERIT". Then he drove away about 10 minutes later having not noticed it.

He then came back about 2 hours after that with the note still attached to the side of the van! I also woke up in the night and looked out my window to see the van was still there and the "DEMERIT" post it note was STILL there! It was windy and raining a fair bit - I'm surprised as to how well post it notes stick to things considering how easy it is to peel them off. It may not have served its purpose (I want him to stop going out of his way to park his van in the street in spaces that other people need, just so he can put his company logo in a prominent position), but at least it amused me.
