Don't worry too much GoofKing:) You just read too much into it.
As an ad I would say it is pretty successful, Like how many time
has it gotten circulated since they first placed it.:)

My mother once made an unintentionally funny type of newspaper ad on behalf of her church.

They were looking for some professional to oversee a sexual counseling program to the youth, and in describing what they were looking for, she also mentioned the accommodation requirements for whomever would have them stay overnight at a parishoner's home. She used the following statement: "No entertainment required; just a bed."

A famous newspaper column writer (Herb Caen) saw it and it ended up in all the local papers in the Bay Area. Mom's claim to fame!

Yeah, these things really do happen from time to time. :p

After a time even my Mom began to laugh about it. :eek:

The last thing that made me laugh was me obsessing over Stalin and then a classmate commenting: "Essay on global warming? Talk about Stalin. Essay on the French Revolution? Talk about Stalin."

It's funnier in context. <D
 
My father was feeding our spoiled old dog chicken bones (a no-no according to many) but she thrives on them. He fed her some chicken ribs from the chicken breast and she devoured them in less than 20 seconds or so. Then he remarked, "You eat the bones faster than I eat the meat!"
After a good laugh he continued, "She eats the bones fast, so she can get more chicken sooner. That's the name of the game!"
For an 86-year old his sense of humour is as great as ever. I wish I could be that creative.
 
My mom talks about fracking on facebook all of the time, first of all.
I just hopped on to laud her for buying me new furniture and knicknacks, and my choice of words was "I have the best mom ever."
I scrolled down the newsfeed to reveal several posts of hers beginning with the words "Wake the frack up" and realized that this is what most of our mutual friends know her for, and thus this is what they will probably attribute my praise to.
 
I remember watching that on Nickelodeon about 25 years ago (I would have been about 10 at the time). Did you ever watch Danger Mouse? I think Count Duckula was actually a spinoff of it, I didn't learn until years later that it's a parody of an old British spy show with Patrick McGoohan called Danger Man.

No, I've never seen Danger Mouse. I just discovered Count Duckula, but I certainly like it enough that I'll probably see their other shows at some point. Cosgrove Hall seems like the British equivalent of Hanna Barbera and that's pretty cool.
 
Today everyone at work received an email from Payroll with an apology.

They were apologizing for paying us today (or tomorrow) instead of paying us this upcoming Friday as normally happens.

Who is actually inconvenienced by being paid 3-4 days early?
