The green movement is a collection of ideas and opinions put out by "natural health" people that has spread into public consciousness that modern disease is dietary and chemically induced and can be reversed by eating a certain way, taking vitamins, detoxing and using essential oils. blah-blah-blah. They are also well known for promoting a distrust of modern medicine.
I feel like now in the 2010's they have set us back about 50 years in terms of public awareness and understanding of autism because of their philosophy. It seemed like in the mid to late 2000's we were making more progress, Asperger's and other ASD's were beginning to be seen as a "neurotype" and all kinds of books and decent documentaries were being put out accurately explaining what an ASD is and how people live with it . But now it just feels so different.. Autism (once again) is being seen as a sickness induced by man made chemicals and food allergies. All the progress that was made I feel has been reversed, people are "less educated" on Autism more than ever now because of this pathetic movement and media. It feels like autism advocates have even retreated.
Maybe this is just all my imagination but it's how I feel.
