@ Arashi: OOOOH! She's stunning & all in pink & white! I bet she was worth every second of the wait!
I bought an IPAD4 for my son's birthday present. $699
I doubt it counts as cool to anyone else, but I just ordered an Audio-Technica A95E cartridge (US$40) and a Pro-Ject Audio MM phono amp (US$99) for my turntable. Analog on the cheap!
analog is nice! nothing nicer than a vinyl recordsounds better than a CD.
i know nothing of how t care for vinyl but im sure itll be fine. i know you'll take care of your records. It is nice! It's been a little more complicated the last decade or two since most pressings these days are cut from digital masters, one of the reasons people are always looking for pre-1980s pressings. Even then, though, I've noticed when I have the record on both CD and vinyl, the vinyl usually sounds much better. I have a stack of records I rescued from the abusive clutches of my parents, who were storing them in garages and attics for many years. I admit I have a bit of a phobia of vinyl; I'm always terrified I will ruin them somehow.
