Thanksgiving Plans?

In the coming days, I'll be helping Uncle Mark make pies, cheesecake, and the turkey. Along with some sides. We will be starting with the turkey, by brining the Turkey in a cooler till Thanksgiving. It'll fun and keep us both busy.

I want to drink Wild Turkey this Thanksgiving. By myself. Because that is less painful and harmful than spending it with my family.

But instead I will be at the local soup kitchen serving Thanksgiving turkey to homeless people, which seems like a much better and healthier idea.

Just can't get any better than that!!!

I, and I'm sure many others (especially the homeless!) am deeply grateful to you for that!!
I gave you a winner star, but that is insufficient. Should be a few thousand stars.

I do have happier Thanksgiving plans than before. Everything worked out and tomorrow I'm going to spend time with my family and I'm making candied sweet potatoes and cheddar bay bisquits. My daughter is making deviled eggs and peach pie.

Apparently, I was unaware I needed a valid non expired food handler’s card to assist at the soup kitchen. Ah, well, I will get one next week and I will start volunteering there on days that are not holidays, since they need me more on those days.

Maybe go to Win Co or something, and buy a loaf of bread, a big box of chip bags, bologna, cheese, or pb and j, and a flat of water bottles. And maybe a bag of mini candy bars.

Walk around tomorrow looking for homeless folks, and pass out lunch bags.

My daughter and I used to do that every Thursday. It was our little homegrown charity "Thursday Sandwiches for the Homeless". We loved it. But I stopped when I got sick.

I would like someone to carry it on.

Was going to visit kids & grandkids, but plans got cancelled because of sudden snowstorm & unsafe travel conditions - it would have been 4 hours on very bad roads.

That means I get all the pie that we were going to take.
