Flinty was rhythm guitarist with the popular 60's group Crazy Dave and the Magnetic Funsters, best known for their only hit song, the toe-tapping classic: Only Hit Song.

After laying down his guitar once and for all in the late 1970's, he became co-owner of Murphy's River Lodge in Estes Park, Colorado, where he soon earned the reputation for having the fluffiest pillows in the whole of the State.

Flinty was known to periodically dance naked around the town in the early hours of the morning, chanting incomprehensibly, in what was rumoured to be an ancient Native American rain dance ritual. In July 1982, following the failure of Lawn Lake Dam, the town was flooded, leading many locals to suspect that Flinty was responsible. This was never proven. Flinty repeatedly denied any involvement in the flood. 'I deny any involvement in the flood', said Flinty. 'I have repeatedly said this', he added.

He maintains a financial interest in Murphy's River Lodge to this day and is best known for his annual Guess the Name of the Stick Festival which attracts crowds from all over the State.

Flinty may also be found wandering the threads of Aspies Central where he is known to spread malicious rumours about Son of the Sea, none of which have been proven.
