TCL phones are rubbish...

I got a cheap Android TCL one to use as a secondary phone. It's just awful, unfortunately.

Basically, it's so bad, you cannot transfer files. Used an OTG hub and the wheel on my mouse didn't work, yet it's fine on my Samsung phone. Also doesn't charge over OTG. Although I know this is common with most phones. Bluetooth can be turned on, you go to pair a device, and what's up? Nothing happens.

It's crap. But for basic use, it's just generic.

We used to have those in my previous job and they were diabolical.

Especially as I buy flagship phones for personal use. So going from one to the other was horrific.

TCL electronics remind me of Nissan automobiles. Priced to sell, but in the end you still get what you pay for. Getting the basic job done, but with nominal quality and reliability.

No thanks.

The audio is so bad. That's why I wanted to transfer the videos to another device. Even if I try to do it with a USB cable to a laptop, it's like it just freezes or cannot do it.

Honestly, buying any Android smartphone that isn't from one of the 'major' brands (Google, Samsung, Motorola, Xiaomi, Oppo, and OnePlus) just really isn't worth it 99% of the time.

Unfortunately, if you want a cheap phone as a secondary one and you want one that is new, you're going to have to get one of the lesser brands.

The only TCL products I see people earnestly recommend are their TVs tbh.

Although nobody tries to pretend that they're the most amazing high-quality TVs you can buy but it's like 'Do you need to buy a TV and are on a budget? Get a TCL because they're the best bang for the buck and are higher quality than other budget TV manufacturers'.
