Super aware of my fingernails toenails and ankles

Ok so I have these moments where I get this unbearable need to press on my nails feet and hands and to intensely rub my ankles to gather it happens everyday sometimes all day and its killing me I just want it to stop. But I don't if this is a asd thing or if I'm just effing crazy does anyone else have this or something like it. I wouldn't call it a stim Bec its unpleasant not relaxing.

It sounds like increased bloodflow to the extremities. I get that occasionally from a med I take. Might want to tell your doctor if the discomfort is significant; it's probably a medical concern, not a psychological one.

I would think maybe but it happens in moments where I'm very stressed or my anxiety is going crazy.

That would be the "how" of the matter. When you're stressed/anxious, your brain will be producing adrenaline, which has the direct effect of stimulating bloodflow to the extremities. Do you grit and/or grind your teeth as well? Usually if the extremities are going to get that much bloodflow, you'll feel it in your gums first in the form of bruxism.

I have sort of the same thing going on, but instead of becoming super-aware of my fingers/toes/ankles I get super-aware of my teeth, which is a weird feeling.

That makes a lot of sense .

Mostly knees for me. I also can't wear socks or shoes and have to feel my feet pressing against the floor. I have kind of learnt to live with it, I take iron pills which seem to help, but I don't know if that is physiological or a placebo effect. The only really bad thing is the gazillion piles of socks that I leave around the house because I have to wear them to work and tear them off as soon as I get home. I found a sock hanging from a light shade the other day, I suppose I must have flung it...

I can sometimes over-do it when I'm rubbing my toes together and I somedays I go at it so intensely that I have blisters by the end of the day.
