Starting my new job tonight

Got totally burnt out in my last job as it combined one of my special interests with a job. Sort of ruined the enjoyment of the special interest at home. Been out of work since just before Christmas. Well tonight, I start my new job at small shop that assembles car seats for Toyota, Subaru, and GM. Should be interesting, a bit of a drive and working second shift, gonna have to adust a bit to that again. I do ok on seconds once I adjust. Working 4:30 to either 1am or 3am depending if they run 8 or 10 hours(depends on work load that day). I will come home, hot shower while the dogs go out and right to bed. I am not a graveyard shift worker, I get real loopy and meltdown prone much after 2-3am. Also 5 days a week, so weekends off to recover and enjoy my other interests. Pay is good and gets better once I transition from being a temp to a full time employee. Cheers Mike

Whoa that is splended.

I am often told I should turn my cross stitching into money, but in truth, I couldn't do that, because one thing, I would feel embarrassed about asking for money and second, it would take the pleasure away from doing my hobbie.

artfull dodger, you said its a bit of a drive to your job,in terms of your pay have you worked out the cost of petrol/diesel [i think you call this gas in the US?] and if its worth the travel?it might take up a lot of your pay?

I make money from making hats and selling them. To a certain degree I agree with you saying about taking away from the pleasure of your hobby, because it's obviously more stressful than just doing it for fun. However, I do get satisfaction from seeing people enjoying things that I've made. Obviously the money is a plus too :p

If someone asked me to do something and insisted they pay, I certainly wouldn't say no lol

I sell on ebay. So clothes I don't want any more, I see and then by what I want.
