Started doing work experience

Hi all,
I've started doing work experience for a landscaping and property services company on Auckland's North Shore called Big Mals.

How I got the opportunity is because I found my old classmate from primary school on Facebook so I messaged her then a a couple of weeks later I met up with her at a local cafe and said I wanted to be an Arborist.

So she talked to her dad who works for Big Mals and he talked to Mal himself then I got a message from her saying I'd been offered work experience with the possibility of a paid job.

So I've been doing work experience for just over a month and so far I love it because I get to work with all sorts of heavy machinery and equipment including wood chippers,mini-diggers and ride on mowers.

On my first day Mal showed up to the job site and handed me a box full of safety gear and two Big Mals shirts and a fleecy I even got invited to their annual Christmas function on Waiheke Island where we'll be doing archery and clay pigeon shooting followed by a bbq back at the workshop.

Sounds good. Just be sure to always use the safety gear and don't let yourself become distracted when operating machinery. Do it carefully every time and you should do OK.
