Sneaky Camera Tricks...!

I just finished binge-watching the series Eureka! The leading ladies looked tall & thin-ish as might be expected. I did a little research on the cast and found out that all but two of the recurring actresses were 5'4" tall (the same as my youngest daughter). Looking back, I could see how they went through elaborate means the frame their scenes with the somewhat taller actors.

I still liked the series and thought the women were well-played, pretty, etc., but it blew my mind about how these women might appear if they stood next to my daughter. (My mom is about the same height.)

Your post hit on some things that I always find myself doing... Maybe lots of people like us do this type of thing... I'm not sure at all.

I'm a guy who will "catch" some small detail in something I am reading, in a song, or something I might be watching and the next thing I know... I am off in some other dimension digging and researching everything I can about that micro detail that caught my attention...

I think it's really cool, but I seem to annoy people because I will put so much effort into digging for what I am suddenly looking for. Yes, I can certainly lose track of the big picture and not even finish what I was doing before hand... But I guess some of us just like to learn at deeper levels and in that we are trying to understand what others just take for granted.

In this... I think this is how many of us become self taught and knowledgeable about things that otherwise just confuse or annoy others. I have been told so many times that I "think too deep." I'm not even sure what that really means, or if it is a complement or an insult?

Are we not here to try and understand those little "glitches" we see in LIFE? Those "glitches" are to my mind, like shiny fishing lures are to a hungry fish... : )

I think its cool you caught that, and went and dug around to find it was a cool trick, in how the camera perceived and projected the shorter girls, to make them seem taller...

I also think its cool to even have the mental fortitude to notice it in the first place... I might be a little prejudice, but I think ASD people are really good at this lots of the time, given the time, space and it being something that is worthy of our attention.

Sort of like that. One day my wifr just started laughing.

I eventually noticed. Me : imitially thinking I was being laughed at -
Shes said 'its just..... you havent stopped talking'

I'd just had a thought, watching tv or something and off I went without drawing breath,no pausing....

So I wasnt being laughed at, it was just so funny that someone could talk for so long one thought after another...

Well I was trying to get to my point, but I had to go through the variables first!

The variables... equal the shiny fish hooks. I get all hung up in the glitches that bring out the "what ifs"
Then off I go into neverland thinking everyone else will understand what I am thinking...

There is this thing at my house where people get so involved into what they are watching... Right now it seems it is "Son's of Anarchy." I get amazed at how deeply involved they get into these shows. Meanwhile I am looking up the characters and remembering they are just doing a job... Like I do everyday.

I fully get "its a show" its not remotely real... They will go off on tangents of what is going on with the show as if it were real... Yet I am off exploring the people and techniques who make it seem so real...

I guess in some way we are all actors playing a part in this narrative we call reality... and in that, some of us see things others don't, while others claim something is, when REALLY the whole thing is more like a mirage.

I get more into predicting the dialogue. Scenes happen for a reason, often a certain thing has to be conveyed to drive the plot with the audience. So my game is saying precisely what they say before they say it.

One from Shakespeare :

Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp’d towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Yea, all which it inherit, shall dissolve
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.”

Which cause many a young one to become so insecure about themselves, because they feel that they cannot conform to what is expected of them.

It seems to be a new craze, for famous ones to post reality shots, to show the young ones that it is all false imaging.
