Sensorial issue (tactile)

Anyone else experiences sensorial irritarion when washing their hair, massaging someone or rubbing certain types of cloth?

For me, the sensation produced by these things is very similar to chalkboard scraping.

When I was little, my reaction to touch would be agression, as I was so sensitive to it.

Relatable?

I only really have a tactile-related sensory issue with microfiber cloth. I can't stand it. Other than that, I mean I'm sensitive to hot or cold objects but that's it.

I use microfiber cloth exclusively for dusting. Very effective, too. And yeah, I hate the feeling of it. Absolutely hate it.

Same feeling about burlap...which I avoid like the plague.

I feel that way about silk, believe it or not. I can't stand the way it feels against my skin. Suede is another, and oh yes! Tapioca flour and to a lesser degree, cornstarch. Words cannot describe how touching those two substances make me feel.

Good point- silk too. The smooth parts glide across skin...but any rough part of my skin against something like silk sheets...ugh! And flannel sheets that are prone to "pilling"...yuck.

I think my very worst tactile experience though is when tin foil wrapping unintentionally meets my teeth. You know...when a tiny piece of it is left with food. Yikes!

That is why I don't like silk, because it catches on my fingers. And tin foil...I always feel like I am tasting it when I handle it. My cat absolutely hates the sound of a piece being torn off; she runs from the room.

I have too many sensory issues to list, but the worst ones for me are rough cottons, heavy clothes, microfiber, massaging people, etc. Like today, I put a cotton t-shirt on, i can usually handle it, but today I felt like it was choking me, clinging to my skin, and I couldn't get that sucker off fast enough! Back in my comfy tank top...

Just wanted to post that I totally relate!

Tactile hypersensitive here, too. I also have some pretty intense, involuntary tactile-defensive judo. :tonguewink:

I'm not the only with tactile-denfensive, I'm not sure I would call it judo. More like shaking like a lead on a tree. Need less to say mechanix gloves are some of my greatest companions. No tingly hands for me,:D
