Riddles

Here's one I came up with in the meantime.

The size of my family is immense.
Some of us sustain life, some of us take life.
Some of us bring information or emotions.
Some of us display ourselves to all.
But for the rest of us, most creatures have no idea we exist.
What am I?

Hint: I don't think any of us are actually living or once living things. Think wider scope.

We are named in science, but are a part of everyday life.

I am a wave.

The size of my family is immense. (water waves, light waves, gravity waves, radio waves, microwaves, x rays, ultrasound waves, seismic waves......)
Some of us sustain life (infrared waves, visible light waves), some of us take life (gamma rays, seismic waves, rogue water waves).
Some of us bring information or emotions (sound waves, radio waves).
Some of us display ourselves to all (visible light waves, sound waves, water waves, seismic waves).
But for the rest of us, most creatures have no idea we exist (radio waves, ultrasound waves, and all the rest of the waves beyond the range or human or animal perception).

Hope it makes sense.

Ok I’ll have to figure out another one when I get home tonight.
