I suppose nobody else intends to try.
Peppermint can be used in a candy called peppermint bark or cinnamon is the inner bark from a certain tree. Peppermint and cinnamon both have a strong flavor and could be considered to have a bit of a bite in that sense. Neither peppermint nor cinnamon ever stalk prey or walk. So either of these are answers.

@FayetheAspie, you’re on the right track.
The part about a seal makes me think of a submarine but some of the other lines make it obvious that it is an unsubmerged one if it is.
