Riddles

On a completely different tack, I don’t have a copy of Deadworld #10, so that wasn’t the inspiration for this riddle.

Shall I give the answer? I wouldn’t want to speak too proudly about my achievement.
 
The answer is a crow.

Dark = black.
Flapping not fluttering = large bird.
A crow is not a person, but Native Americans of the Crow Nation are.
“Cause” sounds like “caws” - you could find a crow by listening for its caws.

Each line was a clue.
Saying the last line aloud might give you “caws”.
A killing with the riddle might be a murder of crows.
A rooster might wake me with its crowing.
Deadworld #10 had The Crow on the back cover.
I didn’t need to be resurrected, which is a reference to the origin of The Crow in the movie of the same name.
This was not the infamous, insoluble riddle “Why is a raven like a writing desk?” but ravens and crows are quite similar.
A crow’s nest, up a ship’s mast, might be “all at sea” (confused).
I did not want “to crow about” my riddle.
 
I wish I had checked back a little sooner. I recognized the writing desk reference but the answer was already given.
 
I'll protect your cut from infection and with help will prove that it happened.

I would not have guessed it. I mean I thought it could be a black animal that flaps, but those other clues with exception of Crows nest (if I thought about nest at sea further, ) and a killing, which I could have later thought possibly such a black crow, but I doubt I would have thought that answer would have solved the other clues. Anyways, good riddle.
 
That could certainly fit because antibodies response to help the cut could also signal that there had been a cut. Do you want me to give you the trophy as credit for coming up with an acceptable answer, or would you like to keep guessing?

Will wait til I or someone comes up with the specific answer you had in mind, as several answers for every riddle often can fit the clues and riddle so the best thing is to maybe try to see if someone can come up with the expected answer from the one who posts the riddle.
