Riddles

@Outdated is the winner! There are two main types, one heavier and more straight that does not return and that was used for hunting and warfare, and the lighter and more curved that can go clockwise or counterclockwise depending if for left or right handed and can turn back to the thrower if used right. Need lots of practice for one to get it to return to sender, and can have flight up to two minutes if really an expert. In the very distant past it was used mostly to kill animals and warfare.

There's at least half a dozen different types that I know of. The only one that comes back was a ceremonial boomerang used in ritual dances.

There was a small one that makes a whistling whirring sound as it flies, they'd skim that over the top of tall grass. The noise would scare the birds in to flight and it would hit a few on it's way through. There were several different sizes and weights for other types of game, and then there was the one they used in warfare. That one has a large knob on one end the size of a small coconut and it flies dead straight and completely silently.

I'm loving the riddles but I can't seem to invent any of my own. Next player please.

Informative. I meant two general types, the ones that are returnable and not returnable. But yes, many shapes and sizes, and with a variety of functions and purposes.

I have a heel but cannot move myself, I have a tongue but cannot speak, and I have a soul[sic] but no body. What am I?

Next riddle:

Born at darkness often they say
sometimes a danger to
you and I
But within a few to several hours I often die

What am I?

Final Clue:

A heartbeat though I have not
So look at me without fear
I mean not to scare you
nor to make things less clear.

When I rise from the bed,
It's full steam ahead.
When it comes to the end,
Any move I'll forfend.
Whatever the weather,
I'm at the end of my tether.
