The actual name has yet to be confirmed. But there is a rumour of the game being unveiled at the next State of Play event on Tuesday.

The next mainline entry in the RE franchise will supposedly star Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine.

I enjoyed 2 and 4. I tried 7 as I know it came highly rated, but I found it to be tedious, and not at all scary. I gave up on it after a couple of hours.

But I've done the horror genre in film and games to death. I feel jaded in that regard that things that attempt to scare don't scare me any more.

Yeah. RE has been a different series since RE4 came out.

I don't like the gameplay style. You see, the game is casual and kind of holds your hand. Numbers in RE4 show you the exit points. Enemies of any type can drop ammo and other items. Yet that makes no sense to me.

Old RE games did not really do this. In every place you went to, the idea was that you looked for key items mostly by yourself, with you having to study your map. Weapons could not be purchased for a fee, either. So RE4 felt so dumb to me, especially with the merchant you meet being everywhere Leon and Ada went to.
