Hello internet,
I was diagnosed with ASD Level 1 last year. I was unaware of how many autistic traits I had. I was pursuing care for ADHD, OCD and bipolar disorder when I was given extensive testing and the Autism diagnosis. At first I’ll admit, I rejected it, not believing it was true. Later I read some books, some good, some bad, and came to peace and even pride in the diagnosis. I am 39 and I haven’t really had friends my whole life. It’s very hard for me to socialize but I enjoy it online. I am into TTRPG games and have played mostly online and some in card/game stores. Currently I am traveling in my RV and have not had time for TTRPG and I miss the socializing that would happen even at virtual table tops. I have many interests, I love engines and trucks, I play a lot of video games, mostly RPG and Minecraft. And I read a lot of fantasy and science fiction. Currently I am reading the Runelords series for the first time. I would like to meet others who are odd like me because I find it very difficult to have anything in common with me in person. I do not work, but I homeschool my kids who are both very neurodivergent and high functioning autistic as well. It’s challenging but rewarding, but I find myself isolated and lonely often.
Well that’s all for now. I would love to know if anyone else is also bipolar as that is what has made my life very difficult and overlaps in some ways with the ASD. I have not met many ASD or bipolar people except in the hospital or probs unknowingly played with them in a RPG.
