Problems with phones

Uuuuuh, I have a very hard time using phone. When it rings it always startles me and I start panicking... I never know when it is my turn to speak so I either create too long pauses or interrupt the person I'm talking to, unwillingly. But the worst thing is that I don't always understand what the person is saying and end up saying "what?" a lot.. And if, plus to everything, the reception is not good enough, I just get lost and stressed out completely.

If I must make a call, I will always write down a script hoping that the conversation will stay in it's limits. When I was working it was the only way for me to cope with phone calls.

Currently my new phone has a problem with a sim and I can't receive phone calls, already for two weeks. I can still text and do everything else using wi-fi, but no frakking calls!! I will have to change the phone but in the meanwhile I'm very much enjoying this phone-calls-free time! (not that I get many calls anyway, hehe! :tonguewink:)

I rarely answer my phone, I let voicemail do it for me. Scripting is the way to go, I started way before I knew I was an aspie. It was the easiest way I could find to deal with conversations, once I got into computers I applied the 'logic' of coding to my scripts to give me better 'range'.

Still use scripts extensively in my work, and as I never see the same person twice it works like a dream.
