Despite it being over ten years old and very "frank" it really was the most honest and accurate article I have ever read about A.S. It clears up the I.Q stuff, why we are not "savants", our actual risk of developing a serious co-morbid psychiatric condition, genetics and how society and psychology has "downplayed" the seriousness of A.S.

Overall, I liked that article very much, but it still bothers me that as a female Aspie, I still seem to have a DEFINITE problem with spatial tasks or judgments.....VERY severe, actually. Sometimes I wonder if I should be driving.....I'd get yelled at SO MANY TIMES in karate class because the angles would be off in my Kata, but i just can't tell.....and this author says female Aspies don't have this problem....so what the HELL is wrong with me?

I don't think anything is wrong with you. It is simply a diverse population and he hasn't seen all of it.

The human brain has so many functions that it seems unlikely that such a global phenomenon as Asperger's would be rigidly consistent in practice. In addition, female Asperger's has been so little studied that he is working from a tiny set.
