Power Rangers to Feature Autistic Ranger

@peoplesrjames Maybe I worded it wrong, but I liked that they didn't make a big fuss about it because it felt accepting, he said he was on the spectrum and the other characters still interacted with him like it was no big deal, as fair as they were concerned he was the same as them. I have seen Alphas and loved Gary but the characters always seemed to try and hold back with him from what I remember, like he was a fragile object.

I agree that Gary was a more realistic and consistent portrayal whereas Billy was more of a "keep it vague then nobody can call it unrealistic" kind of deal, though.

I'll probably end up watching it. I'm not mad about the autistic ranger but I kind of feel like a lot of movies and shows having been "jumping on the bandwagon" as the saying goes.

As interesting and more realistic as that movie was in it's making the characters relatable (more so than the original tv show), it did feel like they just made him autistic so they could say they did. It feels so fake most of the time there's an autistic character on tv these days. They don't write it into the story line very well, or 'justify' it very well. It's sort of like when a regular character on a show is suddenly identified as LGTBQ+ out of the blue, just because it suddenly fits that particular episode's story line, rather than because it makes sense for that character.

OK, I've never been a power rangers fan really, but I definitely want to see this.

Surprisingly it's actually pretty good. I decided I should own it after watching it on tv. It's better than the original tv show, IMO, and surprisingly mature for what it is.
