This really breaks my heart, but these shirts from Riff Raff are certainly wonderful all the same.

I currently have some mice in my house that I’m trying to get rid of and I am so confused right now. One of the traps is missing the bait yet the trap is still set. I don’t understand how that is Even possible.
Use peanut paste or peanut butter as bait. They can't grab the whole lot and run away with it and instead have to keep nibbling.
Whatever you do, do not use rat poison. It does not kill them right away and when they do die, it is in some obscure place that is hard to get to, and they stink up the whole house...!
For dead mice in mousetraps, they used to stink through plastic bags, so we got into the habit of putting them in empty vitamin bottles, etc.* (my wife's idea).
*Any disposable bottle/jar with a threaded lid.
I do have peanut butter. It was my friend’s idea to use beef jerky because his brother is an exterminator. Also I would never use poison as I see it being dangerous to use and the fact the mice are frequenting my kitchen is the main reason why I’m going with a nontoxic route of getting rid of them. I don’t want poison to be anywhere near where I cook and wash my dishes.

Are any of your pythons native or are they all pest species?
All our pythons are imported. By the pet trade. For a while they were largely confined to the Miami area. But then Hurricane Andrew blew everything away, including the pythons who then invaded the Everglades and the Big Cypress and reportedly are as far north as where I live. :-(
Apparently they can wrap up and around a human in about 90 seconds.
Here there's a few weird species getting around but we already had many of our own pythons so they face some pretty tough competition.
We just don’t have a good emoji to respond here. How awful!
The driver wasn't hurt, except for his ego. It's the floods in North Queensland, he got washed off the road at a river crossing.
